Andy Tooze
Andy’s sessions were dynamic and interactive, involving speaking, listening, reading, writing and drama. He read his poems and answered any questions about their stimulus, form and content. Andy provided the children with a variety of simple, helpful hints and enabled them to compose their own poems throughout the day. He inspired them with his natural enthusiasm and empathy. An assembly at the end of the day proved to be an extremely successful method of both sharing the poems that the children composed and of showing the variety of approaches and techniques that Andy explained to us. Andy’s second visit to our school has been a catalyst for teachers and children, inspiring them both to love poems and to see themselves as poets.
