Welcome to Reception’s homepage. We share lots of information and learning with our parents through Class Dojo but please find some additional information below.
Reception Curriculum Overview
Click below to see the topics we will be covering this year. If you would like a little more information about the seven areas of learning, please look at our EYFS page.
Homework is alternated each week between Maths and Literacy homework. It is given out on a Friday afternoon and is due in on Wednesday. Please feel free to make any comments at the bottom of each homework so we can use this feedback to influence future work. The children have set days for reading and it is very important that the children have their reading folders in each day. On your child’s reading day we will listen to them read before changing their books. Please comment after your child has read to you.
Class Dojo is a fantastic reward tool that we use here in class. You are able to see and follow our class story with regular pictures and updates of what we have been doing in class. You can also use class dojo to message us and for us to share important messages with you. Our lovely children receive dojo points for good behaviour and rewards for working so hard and you will see these on the dojo app. Passwords are available from the class teacher.
Some Important Points
- Please leave your child at the gate to our outdoor area each morning to come into class by themselves. If you have any messages, please pass them through the office. Teachers are unable to discuss issues in the morning as our aim is to be in the classroom working with the children. If you do want to talk to a teacher, you can make an appointment or see us at the end of the day.
- The children may bring water bottles into class each day. Ensure they have your child’s name clearly marked on them and that they are filled with water and not juice.
- Our P.E. day is Friday.
- Snack is £1 per week
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you throughout the year.
